Next Christmas, Just Send Boxes

The thing I like the most about Christmas and my birthday and other times gifts are exchanged are the boxes.  Consider this quaint scene from Christmas and check out all the different types and sizes of boxes.

Imagine all the cool boxes under wraps.
Of the boxes we received this year, the one on the far right above, was the most intriguing.  It looked better up close because it said that there was a garden yeti inside.

Some boxes make it clear what's inside.
Sure enough, there was a garden yeti inside.  I’ve never gotten a yeti before, let alone one that can go in my garden.

I was also happy to see another box about the same size as the yeti box.  It contained a lot of presents.   Big boxes with lots of presents are always good.

I was determined to get to the bottom of the big box of gifts.

The other box that intrigued me was the white one with two wheelies and a loopy string on it.  I mean, there just had to be something special inside it.  The thing is, in the chaos of the day that is Christmas, I don’t know what was inside the box, let alone whose it was.  But I did keep the box.

A box I just had to keep.

My pets like boxes, too.  And they don’t care what’s in them, either.

Some of the hamsters like boxes, too.

But of all the people and creatures in our house, our cat, Purrkins, probably loves boxes the most.  When I was painting a few months ago, he watched from a nearby box.

Over the holidays, Purrkins proved that just about any box will do, even if he doesn’t fit inside.

A shirt box that seemed a bit small to me.

He also crammed himself into this shoe box.

Face oozing over the side, leg hanging out, and yet, he sleeps.

At last, I think Purrkins found one that fits just right.

The box we'll keep around for a while.

I have to admit, it’s fun looking over from my computer and seeing Purrkins peering out at me.

So next year, take note all your gift givers.  It doesn’t matter to me or the critters that live here what’s inside the boxes.  We simply like the boxes.
